Zaterdagavond werd 'Welp' het langverwachte langspeeldebuut van Jonas Govaert vertoond op Film Fest Gent. De Vlaamse horrorfilm ging eerder al in wereldpremière op het prestigieuze Toronto International Film Festival en fans van het genre spreken van de horrorprent van het jaar.

Gisterenavond konden we de Belgische première van de indrukwekkende film 'Eau Zoo' bekijken in aanwezigheid van Emilie Verhamme en cast. Ook Andrew Scott bezocht Gent om de film 'Pride' voor te stellen.

Naar jaarlijkse gewoonte organiseerde Knack Focus op zaterdag 18 oktober een geslaagde filmmarathon, waar ook dit jaar flink wat filmfans en Knack-lezers van konden genieten. Dave Mestdach leidde vijf boeiende films in, waaronder ook 'Violet', die de Jo Röpke-prijs in ontvangst mocht nemen.

Film Fest Gent organiseerde op zondag 19 oktober de vierde editie van de Competitie voor Beste Belgische Studentenkortfilms. Winnaar van de ACE Image Factory Publieksprijs werd 'Perdition County' van Raphaël Crombez die studeerde aan LUCA School of Arts.
