Valsi petsjoratse (The Pechora Waltz)

In 1937, a 13-year-old Tbilisi girl has been sent to a state orphanage after her parents were arrested. She escapes and returns to her old apartment now occupied by a KGB officer. An uneasy relationship develops between the sensitive teen and the world-weary communist, who is eventually arrested for trying to help her. The other story centers on the wife of 'an enemy of the people' sentenced to a prison camp in Siberia. The camp is full, and she joins other femme prisoners on a trek through the icy wilderness...
