World Soundtrack Awards
De World Soundtrack Awards zijn een jaarlijkse reeks prijzen voor film- en tv-muziek die worden uitgereikt tijdens Film Fest Gent. Hoewel het festival zich al sinds 1985 in het bijzonder inzet voor de ondersteuning van filmmuziek, met onder meer concerten van componisten als Elmer Bernstein, Georges Delerue, Bruce Broughton, Hans Zimmer, Jean-Claude Petit, Ennio Morricone en Michael Nyman, werden deze concerten, evenementen, masterclasses en prijzen aan de rand van het festival pas in 2001 verzameld onder de noemer van de World Soundtrack Awards. Jaarlijks wordt het filmfestival afgesloten met een ceremonie & concert waarop de winnaars van de prestigieuze World Soundtrack Awards worden bekendgemaakt.
