Film Fest Gent is launching its visual campaign for the 51st edition in autumn, which this year will start on a Wednesday evening (Wednesday 9 October) and end on a Sunday evening (Sunday 20 October). The motion element remains strong in the campaign and gets a new twist, accompanied by a fresh colour palette.

The 51st edition (9 - 20 Oct) of Film Fest Gent has its first titles. The Classics programme American Dream / American Nightmare, curated by Patrick Duynslaegher, dives deep into the American political bubble with fifteen films questioning the fragile democracy of the US.

The 40th edition of Film Fest Gent opens on Tuesday 8 October with Bill Condon's riveting investigative thriller The Fifth Estate and closes with Steven Soderbergh's Behind the Candelabra.

Vijf speelfilms en zeven series krijgen in totaal twee miljoen euro steun van Screen Flanders. Deze twaalf gesteunde producties zullen iets meer dan achttien miljoen euro aan audiovisuele uitgaven spenderen in het Vlaamse gewest. De economische hefboom bedraagt 9,02 per geïnvesteerde euro.

The 41st edition of Film Fest Gent (14 to 25 October 2014) opens with The Loft, the American remake of De Loft, directed by Erik van Looy. The festival closes with Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Birdman.
