The 30th Gent Film Festival, an anniversary edition, will take place from 7 to 13 October. Erik van Looy's "De Zaak Alzheimer" opens the festival, while "Finding Nemo" closes it.

The 32nd edition of the International Film Festival of Flanders (from 11 to 22 October 2005) opens with Merry Christmas by Christian Carion. The 34th Ghent Film Festival (October 9-20) opens this year with no less than three films. Closing the Ring by Lord Richard Attenborough opens the Festival Previews section, Die Fälscher by Stefan Ruzowitzky the Official Competition and Sand and Sorrow by Paul Friedman ‘Almost Cinema’ in Vooruit. The festival closes with It’s a Free World by Ken Loach.

The 36th edition of the Gent Film Festival (October 6-17) opens with Felix van Groeningen’s De helaasheid der dingen and closes with Soul Kitchen by Fatih Akin.

The 37th edition of the Ghent Film Festival (October 12-23, 2010) opens with Smoorverliefd by Hilde Van Mieghem. The short film competition also has an opening film this year: Dansen met Travolta by Lenny Wesemael. The festival closes with Sofia Coppola's Somewhere.

The 35th edition (7-18 October 2008) of the Ghent Film Festival, dedicated to the recently deceased Hugo Claus, opens with The Visitor by Thomas McCarthy and closes with Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler.

De 33ste editie (11-21 oktober 2006) van het Filmfestival Gent opent met Perfume van Tom Tykwer en sluit af met Zwartboek van Paul Verhoeven.
