Film music has been in Film Fest Gent's DNA for decades. This unique focus spawns a host of events and projects running across the year, every year. During our annual WSA Film Music Days you can discover our diverse film music programme, culminating with a film music concert and its annual highlight, the World Soundtrack Awards.

No Film Fest Gent without concerts. Yearly, the festival puts the spotlights on film music with live performances. With, of course, the World Soundtrack Awards as the highlight.

WSA Film Music Days

Each year Film Fest Gent organises the WSA Film Music Days: the networking event for both young and established international film (music) professionals to gain insight into new developments, to be part of inspiring discussions and to meet colleagues in the field.

Composition Contest

Young international film music talents have the chance to participate in the WSA Film Music Composition Contest. At the World Soundtrack Awards Ceremony & Concert the winner is awarded the prestigious WSAward for Best Original Composition by a Young Composer (powered by Vienna Synchron Stage).

Albums

Film Fest Gent and Brussels Philharmonic collaborate to give the film music fans an impressive WSA Album each year. The compilation album honours world-renowned film composers whose music deserves the spotlight.
