Sane Inside Insanity — The Phenomenon of Rocky Horror

Fifty years after The Rocky Horror Picture Show first hit theatres, the kitschy sci-fi-horror-comedy-punk-rock-musical (yes, it's a word!) has grown into a global cult phenomenon, despite its humble beginnings in a dingy little theatre in London. The documentary Sane Inside Insanity, named after one of the film's many infectious lyrics, dives deliriously deep into the decades-long cult surrounding the longest-running theatrical release in film history. Featuring interviews with much of the original cast and crew, as well as diehard fans who've been there from the start, the film pays tribute to those who made Rocky Horror what it is today: a joyous, shared celebration of freedom, (queer) expression, body positivity, and chosen family. But the doc also casts a critical eye on the flip side of commercial success. Still, don't let that kill the vibe. Don't dream it, be it!
