‘Julian’ Opens 52nd Edition of Film Fest Gent 08 Oct 2025
In the presence of director Cato Kusters and the cast and crew of Julian, the 52nd edition of Film Fest Gent was officially opened. Until Sunday 19 October, the festival will showcase work by established masters and emerging voices from the global film scene and welcome both national and international guests on the red carpet. During the annual World Soundtrack Awards, the festival brings composers out of the shadows of their studios and into the spotlight.

Winners of the Short Film Competitions announced 12 Oct 2025
O Rio de Janeiro continua lindo and Maman, - two films that revolve around mothers - have been awarded by the International Short Film Jury at the 52nd edition of Film Fest Gent. On 12 October, the jury announced their picks during the Short Film Award Ceremony. O Rio de Janeiro continua lindo by Felipe Casanova received the Award for Best International Short. In the Competition for Belgian Student Short, Maman by Niko Wei was crowned Best Belgian Student Short. The festival audience chose Shutterspeed by Jasper De Maeseneer as the winner of the Audience Award for Best Belgian Student Short.
