The 35th edition of the Ghent International Film Festival has officially started with the premiere of The Visitor in the six screening rooms of Kinepolis in Ghent and Young@Heart at Vooruit. The 35th edition of the Ghent International Film Festival has a record! In total there are 75.000 tickets sold of which 35.000 were sold at the anniversary price of 5 euro! The sales of the tickets has gone up by 12 % compared to last year. The reactions of the public are mainly positive and the media covering is larger than ever!

The documentary Finding Home by Christopher Daley (KASK) has won the ACE-price for Best Flemish Student Short Film at the 35th Ghent Film Festival. Minister Bert Anciaux has given the price on this Monday evening at the Vooruit. The price includes a premium of 2.000 euro for the director and a postproduction premium of 7.500 euro.

Songes d'une Femme de Ménage by Banu Akseki has won the National Lottery Price for Best Belgian Short Film. The director receives a premium of 5.000 euro. Jazzed by Anton Senola receives a special mention. The price was given by Marc Frederix, marketing director of the National Lottery.
