During Film Fest Gent the Italian prog-rock band Goblin will be playing live music during the screening of the surreal horror classic "Suspiria" at Vooruit on Saturday 18 October.

Dario Argento's baroque and surreal horror classic "Suspiria" from 1977 is one of the highlights of his oeuvre and of the horror genre in general. An exercise in dream logic with absurd and gruesome props, you will never forget after seeying. One of the key components of the success of Suspiria was the soundtrack of Italian prog-rock band Goblin, who previously wrote the soundtracks for Argento classic "Profondo Rosso" and George A. Romero's "Dawn of the Dead '.

Suspiria is without a doubt the most timeless of all their soundtracks; from ghostly interludes to intense 'over the top' prog eruptions. Goblin wrote the soundtrack for the film before it even went into production and so Argento made sure image and sound formed one organic whole. Goblin chief and keyboard player Claudio Simonetti introduced new band members to Goblin and they will be playing the soundtrack live to the screening of "Suspiria".

After the screening there will be a DJ set at the bar by Spencer Hickman, also known as the man behind the soundtrack reissue label Death Waltz, responsible for re-releasing iconic horror soundtracks like John Carpenter, Dario Argento, Lucio Fulci and William Lustig.

The screening starts at 19:30 on Saturday, 18 October. Tickets are available through this link.
