Sections & Tags

Making a selection out of more than 100 films is not easy, we are aware of that. Therefore, we would like to help you with our Sections and Tags! All the different facets of our festival (short films, avant-premières, world cinema, TV series, films for children, etc.) have their own section. Would you like to focus on a particular theme or subject (young people, LGBTQ+, new voices, Belgian cinema...)? Then you can follow the Tags.

Sections

Film Fest Gent wants to provide a platform to all kinds of films. Short films and feature films, fiction films and documentaries, brand new high-profile projects and classics that have earned their place in film history, small competition films and big audience pullers, ... Opposites that complement each other nicely and each has its own section of the festival to inhabit.

Tags

Tags give the film a label that helps you place it, both formally and thematically. Tags do not care about sections. Films can have several tags. If you are looking for a documentary, look out for the Docs tag. If you want to be surprised by more experimental cinema, check out the films with the tag On the Edge. In the Masters tag you will find works by great film authors and in the New Voices tag you will discover the newest voices in the film world. The tags Explore Zone and Plus Parcours bring together films for the young and the slightly older film lover respectively.
