When Texas oil millionaire Kyle Hadley is introduced by his best friend Mitch Wayne to secretary Lucy Moore he is immediately swept off his feet. Kyle takes Lucy to Miami and marries her the same evening! When he hears from his doctor he can't have children, he gets wondering whether the baby his wife is going to have is really his child or if it's the child of his best friend. Kyle's nympho sister Marylee Hadley encourages his suspicions while trying to trap Mitch, who is, indeed, in love with Lucy. "Written on the Wind" is one of the quintessential films of the '50s: a high-powered family drama.
