In the sleepy New England town of Loblolly At Sea, a letter has arrived that is going to wake things up. It is a love letter - ardent, sensual … and unsigned. Helen MacFarquhar, an attractive divorced woman in her 40s who runs the local bookstore, is the ‘lucky discoverer’ of the letter. She reads it, is enraptured by its romantic language and then decides it was meant for her. Determined to find the letter’s author, Helen begins a quest that leads her to two different men: George, an old friend from the past; and Johnny, a young man very much in her present. Eventually, the love letter falls into the hands of several other of Loblolly’s citizens, each of whom becomes convinced that it was written for them. Unexpectedly, one mysterious love note has the power to unlock some startling secrets…
