The Cabinet of Dr. Ramirez

The Cabinet of Dr. Ramirez is a silent movie, in color, with music by John Adams and Tibetan monks from the monasteries of Dharamsala. So, in fact there is plenty of sound, just no talking. lt is a silent movie in the sense that it consists of the silent moments in its characters' lives. The characters are Wall Street executives Cathy and Matt, their best friends Sue and Bruce and two homeless people, Ramirez and Gesar. The film is set in New York City in the nineties in a mood of economic collapse. The film is a series of layered and parallel episodes that wil! be experienced and interpreted somewhat differently by each viewer. (Peter Sellars)
