Would you agree to let your son die if he went on hunger strike for his beliefs? Would you go against his beliefs even though it meant the defeat of the cause he was willing to die for? Such
is the dilemma facing Kathleen Quigley and Annie Higgins, two Irish Mothers during the 1981
hunger strike protest in Northern lreland led by Bobby Sands. The two women hold the fate of
their sons - and the fate of the cause their sons are willing to die for - in their hands. They
journey through war torn streets of Northern Ireland to the corridors of power in London, as
they battle to save the lives of the hunger strikers. And as the clock ticks away on their
children's lives, they prepare to face the parent's nightmare, whether to let their sons live or
die...
