When Carmen is cleaning her mother's house after death, she finds an air ticket in the drawer – destination: Kathmandu, Nepal. In the same drawer there is also a cassette tape and a letter from 15 years ago, written by a certain Saroj Kulu. On the cassette, she recognizes the happy laugh of her mother. Carmen decides to go to Kathmandu to learn something more about her mother's past. She finds Saroj in a music shop, but when he hears about her mother's death, he remains indifferent. Carmen is very disappointed. But later, she meets a young man, who happens to be Saroj's brother Nirmal. And so she learns that the distance between people may be blocked by geographical barricades, but can be shortened by memories …
