Pünktchen und Anton (Annaluise & Anton)

Annaluise (10) and Anton (11) are best friends although they are from totally opposite backgrounds. Anton, very poor with a sick mother, works evenings in an ice-cream parlour to support her and falls asleep in school. Annaluise wants to help him but although her parents are extremely rich they give her little time or money. Fortunately she has enough imagination to earn some money at night for Anton. In the new film adaptation of Erich Kästner’s children’s book, Annaluise isn’t selling matches, but is singing instead. She learned the songs from Laurence, the French au pair, whom the eternally absent parents considered the ideal chaperone for Annaluise. However, it turns out that Laurence’s boyfriend, Carlos, is not altogether harmless. Fortunately, Anton is there when the situation gets critical…
