Following the death of his father, Mehrollah (14) leaves his village and heads for the city to make enough money to support his mother and sisters. He is gone for a long time and when he returns home he is shocked to discover that his mother has re-married. It makes it worse that they have moved to a bigger home. He therefore rejects his stepfather and refuses to enter the new house, preferring instead to live in the old home. His best friend Latif acts as a go-between for Mehrollah and his family. The angry young boy vents his feelings by vandalising his mother's new home. Until one day he becomes terribly ill…
