Liesje is a girl of about ten years of age. She lives with her mother in an old house; up until a little while ago, her grandfather also lived here, but when he died Liesje lost her best friend. She regularly writes letters to her father about all her dreams and her plans. Her father supposedly Jives in Rio, hut in fact, he is in jail somewhere in Holland. When Liesje rummages one day in her grandfather's desk, she discovers a stamp collection. As she would really like to fly to Rio to see her father, she secretly sells the collection to obtain the money for her flight. She is already on the plane when her mother finds out... (pressbook)
