A restless, frustrated dishwasher in a tiny Texas burg (Jon Voight) is convinced that he can use his sexual prowess to satisfy all of the rich New York women who don't know what real loving from a real man is like. He bids farewell to his Lone Star pals and heads for the Big Apple. On the trip he waxes reminiscent about his past, and in a flashback we see his history: the uncaring father who deserted his slatternly mother; his grandmother, and all of her "gentlemen callers"; and a recounting, apparently, of every sexual experience he ever had.
