July Rhapsody

Lam Yiu-kwok is a high school teacher. To an introverted, bookish man approaching middle age, this seems to be the perfect job. Everything changes when a student, Choi-nam, falls in love with him. The beautiful teen reminds Yiu-kwok of his wife when she was young, but he knows better than to engage in a relationship with a student. At home, his wife Man-ching has another surprise. Mr. Seng has returned, divorced and terminally ill. He was a beloved teacher when Yiu-kwok and Man-ching were in school. He is also the biological father of the couple’s eldest son. Man-ching needs some time away from the family to deal with the news and she tells Yiu-kwok that she must leave for a month. A midlife crisis, his wife’s past infidelity and a mix of sympathy and anger for his dying nemesis send Yiu-kwok into an emotional tailspin. Everything seems to lead him towards Choi-nam, the forbidden fruit. Will history repeat itself?
