El Mariachi is about a lone Mariachi musician who enters a small town at the same time as a hitman. They bath wear black and carry similar guitar cases, except the Mariachi's contains his beloved guitar and the hitman's is full of weapons. The Mariachi falls in love with a beautiful bar owner who takes him in after he is accidentally confused with the hitman. The Mariachi finds himself ushered into the violent underworld, battling the evil that lurks both around him and within ... up until the film's final tragic moments.
