Poverty is great in a small village in the heart of Kurdistan. And so the ten-year-old Kendal is taken to Germany by his uncle where, unbeknownst to his parents, he uses him to sell drugs. Kendal is still too young to be arrested by the police. But his existence between a juvenile foster home, the drug scene and prostitution is a living hell. Kendal would burn in it, if it weren’t for Hellkamp, a cab driver and, as it turns out, an ex-cop who becomes his friend and protector. But even Hellkamp can’t give Kendal the security he yearns for. There is a dark shadow in Hellkamp’s past which is threatening to separate the two. Kendal must decide between the world of drug pushers who are Kurdish just like himself, and a friend who, it seems, can’t be his friend. (www.german-cinema.de)
