Two short film competitions and a retrospective underline the importance and quality of the shorter format. The International Short Film Jury selects winners in both the International Short Film Competition and the Competition for Belgian Student Shorts.

Film Fest Gent gladly helps you select your favourite films from our programme. Via Sections & Tags you can find out which films suit you best. Under the section Shorts you will find all the short films that will be screened during FFG2025. Discover the films included in this section here.

International Short Film Competition

Short films are more than a stepping stone to a feature film; they are a genre of their own, and one that is too often underexposed. Film Fest Gent wants to put international short film talent in the spotlight. The International Short Film Competition houses three selections with the best that short films have to offer. The Short Film Jury presents the Award for Best International Short worth €5.000.
