WSA Film Music Days - Composer's Talk: Stephanie Economou

Award-winning composer Stephanie Economou gave insight into her quickly evolving career and experiences in both the game music and film music industry. Her score for Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Dawn of War Ragnarök was awarded the very first Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Video Games and Other Interactive Media and is considered one of the finest game soundtracks of the past years. Scoring both games and films, she perfectly understands the peculiarities of both artforms and how to use these to her advantage musically.

Ruben De Gheselle - Moderator

Ruben De Gheselle is known for his intimate, hypnotic and sometimes dark scores for films such as the Cannes-nominated Clara Sola (Nathalie Álvarez Mesén, 2021), A Cops & Robbers Story (Ilinca Calugareanu, 2020) which premiered at DOC NYC, or the Canneseries-winning Lockdown (De Wereldvrede & Lecter Media). Ruben also worked on several internationally acclaimed short films including The Passerby (2020) and Beast! (2016) by Pieter Coudyzer and Elena (Birute Sodeikate, 2021). He won various prestigious awards such as the Grand Prix for best music in Marseille and an Ensor in 2022. In 2021, he won the Georges Delerue Award at Film Fest Gent for the music of Clara Sola.
