Met zijn debuutfilm Julie zwijgt mag Leonardo van Dijl naar het Filmfestival van Karlovy Vary waar hij in de sectie Horizons zal worden voorgesteld. Karlovy Vary is een van de belangrijkste Oost-Europese filmfestivals en in de niet-competitieve sectie Horizons worden opmerkelijke hedendaagse films voorgesteld. Het filmfestival heeft in de Tsjechische stad plaats van 28 juni tot 6 juli 2024.

The 42nd edition of Film Fest Gent (13 to 24 October 2015) kicks off with the opening film D'Ardennen by Robin Pront. A day earlier, however, there was a pre-opening screening of The Walk, directed by Robert Zemeckis. The closing film was Black Mass by Scott Cooper.

The 45th Film Fest Gent takes place from 9 to 19 October 2018. The festival kicks off with Girl by Lukas Dhont and closes with Beautiful Boy by Felix van Groeningen.

For its 46th edition, which will take place from 8 to 18 October, Film Fest Gent 2019 is bringing the Spanish cinematographic sphere to Ghent, traditionally with much emphasis on soundtracks. The opening film this year is Les Misérables by Ladj Ly, the festival closes with The Mustang by Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre.
