A film festival naturally includes an array of awards: on Wednesday 16 October, the international jury awards the Grand Prix for Best Film and the Georges Delerue Award for Best Soundtrack/Sound Design. But who is in our international jury this year?

Jury President Joachim Lafosse - Director, BE

The career of Belgian director and writer Joachim Lafosse (‘À perdre la raison) includes a run in Cannes’ Un Certain Regard section, a Belgian Oscar submission and the FIPRESCI award in Bratislava. In Belgium, his home country, he won a Magritte Award in 2013.

Midge Costin - Director/Sound Editor, US

An authority in the world of sound, American professor in sound editing Midge Costin (who worked on hit films like ‘Armageddon’) recently took up directing! Her documentary ‘Making Waves’ already secured a spot at the Cannes Film Festival and features in our Sound & Vision section.

Radu Jude - Director, RO

From our competition last year to this year’s jury! Romanian director and screenwriter Radu Jude’s credits are overwhelming, including Romania’s most successful short film ever: ‘Lampa cu caciula’ (2006). His awards include a Silver Bear in Berlin and the Jury Prize in Locarno.

Guy Lodge - Film critic, UK

London-based freelance film journalist Guy Lodge began writing about film on a blog in 2008. He rose through the ranks of film criticism and became a member of the London Film Critics’ Circle, chief UK film critic for the leading film magazine Variety, as well as film columnist for The Guardian and The Observer, amongst other publications.

Fiorella Moretti - Producer/Sales Agent, PE

Peruvian producer Fiorella Moretti works as co-CEO of her own Paris-based sales and production company, LUXBOX, with which she presented four titles at this year’s Cannes festival. Previously she worked for nine years as head of production in Mantarraya, one of the leading independent production companies in Latin America, collaborating with filmmakers Carlos Reygadas and Amat Escalante, among others.

Dora Bouchoucha Fourati - Producer, TU

Tunisian producer Dora Bouchoucha Fourati has been actively promoting the development and recognition of African and Arab cinema for almost thirty years. Her company Nomadis Images produced numerous films that made the selection of renowned festivals like Venice, Cannes and Berlin.
