Xuan lian (Red Beads)

Jingsheng is waiting for his girlfriend in a restaurant. Looking out of the window, he begins to daydream. He sees himself as an attendant in a psychiatric clinic, monotonously carrying out his work. One day he hears about a new patient, the 23-year-old Jiyun, who seems to have reached an end point in her life. When he brings her something to eat their eyes meet. An unspoken affinity, a deep yearning for affection and understanding brings the two outsiders together.
