Woyzeck

Edition 1994
93' - 1994 - Drama - Dialogue: Hungarian
Director: János Szász With: Lajos Kovács, Diana Vacaru, Éva Igó
The film tells a story about love which has to go through hell again and again in order to be fulfilled. Woyzeck, a speck of dust of a man spends his duty - his life - as a flagman by point switch no. 425 at the periphery of a shifting yard, involuntary exile, away from home. Maria, his wife, spends her days not far from him, in the laundry of the railway which looks like a prison on the other side of the railway bed. Far away and still so close to each other. Around them the constant crying of their illegitimate child, the rough temptation of the policeman and their own unhappy life. However, some hope seems to flare up on the beads of a cheap earring received as a present and the sharp blade of a razor.
