Uttoran (The Broken Journey)

Dr. Nihar Sen Gupta, brilliant GP, treating only upper class patients, is invited by the Rotary Club of Jamshedpur to give talk on the advances of treatment of diseases which have taken place in the last twenty years. Sen Gupta accepts the invitation, hoping to kill two birds with one stone: a very old friend of his whom he hasn't seen for the last ten years, lives in Jamshedpur. Sen Gupta sets out in his chauffeur-driven car but has a flat tyre on the highway. While the new tyre is being put in, Sen Gupta hears a groaning from behind a bush. His curiosity aroused, he investigates and finds a peasant lying on the ground in a comatose state ...
