Ulee's Gold

Peter Fonda plays Ulee, a taciturn beekeeper living in an isolated rural part of the Florida panhandle. Six years a widower and still not over it, the former Vietnam vet takes care of his two granddaughters (their mother abandoned them) while his son is doing time in prison. Though a man of few words and inclined to conceal his feelings, Ulee is honest, hard working and good to the increasingly rebellious teens Casey and Penny. The dull routine of their lives is upset when Ulee's son Jimmy calls to say that Helen, the girl's mother, has been spotted in Miami. Jimmy asks his father to bring her back. When he goes to find Helen, Jimmy's two former partners demand him to find the 100,000 $ Jimmy hid from them in exchange...
