Tuvalu is a poetic fairy-tale told without dialogue. Anton is locked by his blind father Karl into their old swimming pool and is obliged by him to repair the building. Although the building is in poor shape, Anton maintains the illusion that it is intact and constantly busy. One day an ‘inspector’ wants to close the swimming pool as it doesn’t meet with the safety regulations. Anton has only a few days to renovate the building. Eva, a girl who Anton loves, is interested in a unique part of the ‘Imperial’-machine that controls the watersupply and temperature of the swimming pool.
