Animation version of Tsui Hark's feature annex box-office hit from 1987, a visually stunning fairy-tale that excels in 3D special effects combined with the latest animation techniques.
Long ago, in an ancient and mysterious country where heaven and the underworld meet, there was a money collector, called Ning. His girlfriend Lan saw him so little that she eventually married someone else. On her wedding day, she gave Ning all his possessions back. Ning goes off on a journey with his dog Solid Gold through incredible worlds. When he reaches Vainly Beautiful City, he meets the female ghost Shine. She is a follower of a mean and hungry ghost who needs fresh human ghosts to keep her beauty. Ning and Shine plan to live happily ever after their rebirth. But in the meantime, they have to watch out of the Void Hammers, who are able to wipe away all their memories. When they reach the reincarnation gate, the lovers from the two different worlds agree on a pact.
