Nick Broomfield

Tracking Down Maggie: The Unofficial Biography of Margaret Thatcher

Edition 1995
87' - 1994 - Biography, Documentary - Dialogue: English
Director: Nick Broomfield Composer: David Bergeaud With: Nick Broomfield, Margaret Thatcher, Ari Ben-Menashe
"I wanted to find out what kind of a person she really is. I wanted to look at her as a human being," says the Englishman Broomfield who followed Margaret - Maggie - Thatcher for weeks in a row while she was doing an international promotional tour for her autobiography. The "iron lady" could not really appreciate his cat-and-mouse play and completely ignored Broomfield, which led to some amusing scenes. Thatcher's opposition is understandable because Broomfield is very adept at debunking well-known people. Despite Thatcher's opposition, the persistent Broomfield succeeds in depicting a distinct portrait of the British ex-Prime Minister.
