The Secret Life of Houses

Edition 1994
91' - 1994 - Drama - Dialogue: English
Director: Adrian Velicescu With: Remy Ryan, Laurie Metcalf, Shirley Knight
Using raw material of a house invested with memories, nine-year-old Margaret's vivid imagination roams the landscape of her emotions - a complex relationship with her dysfunctional mother, the absence of a father, and the looning forces of school, church and money. Textured and poetic, The Secret Life of Houses explores the mental spaces between mother and daughter, dream and memory, reality and expectation to capture the beautiful and painful process of a child's attempt to comprehend the world. This film is one of the seven films made for the Independent Television Service, in a five-hour series of films about the family (TV Families). The series shows several points of view on the relationship between family and television.
