The film is based on a story, Tim Burton, drafted 13 years ago, when he was an animation trainee at Disney. lts premise: what if Halloween took over Christmas, what kind of holiday would we have ? The action starts in mythical Halloween Town, where the witches, ghouls and demons dwell. Among them Jack Skellington, he is going through an existential crisis: Christmas Town seems a far jollier affair. The combination of a strong storyline and skilled direction is enhanced by the work of of a team of brilliant stop-motion animators: the result is a hilariously scary one.
