At an asylum camp in Sweden, Ali and Massoud meet. Massoud is to be deported soon and escapes in an old car, and Ali joins him because he doesn’t want to be left alone. Their journey begins. The first stop is a strawberry field where Ali gets a job as a scarecrow. Through a garden hedge he sees Louise, an ex ‘Miss Sweden’, and falls in love with her. Together Ali and Massoud drive Louise to the train station and see her off. On their way, Ali and Massoud meet with a family who hide refugees, but after a couple of days they are forced to travel on. In Gothenburg they meet Louise again. She suggests that they all drive to see her parents who live in the north of Sweden. On the way up there they meet (among others) a young man whose parents own a big luxurious house and who are spending their weekend with the King and Queen of Sweden, and an elderly couple who seems to be particularly interested in young black men.
