The film takes its title from John Cooper Clarke's autobiographical work “TEN YEARS IN AN OPEN NECKED SHIRT” which recalls his early life with humour and a strong sense of the fantastic. In this film which mixes concert footage, interviews, with interpreted and dramatised treatments of his work. John Cooper Clarke and his true story, when it can be glimpsed, are seen to be as engaging and extraordinary as the imagery of his poetry.
