Kristoffer Borgli

Sick of Myself (Syk Pike)

Edition 2022
95' - 2022 - Comedy - Dialogue: Norwegian
Director: Kristoffer Borgli With: Elisabeth Bech Aschehoug, Sarah Francesca Brænne, Anders Danielsen Lie
Kristoffer Bergli serves us a hilariously infuriating character that perhaps really embodies Joachim Trier's film title "the worst person in the world". Behind the narcissism, the tragicomedy and the beats of body horror, lurks a lonely young woman who's obsessed with the image others have of her.
Signe and Thomas are in an unhealthy, competitive relationship that takes a vicious turn when Thomas suddenly breaks through as a contemporary artist. In response, Signe makes a desperate attempt to regain her status by creating a new persona hell-bent on attracting attention and sympathy.
"A hilarious portrait of the worst person in the world, Kristoffer Borgli's wickedly enjoyable feature is a razor-sharp evisceration of those warped by a victim mentality. The film bounces from moments of near body-horror to stingingly witty exchanges without missing a beat." – The Playlist
