1938. American intelligence intercepts a German message from Egypt to Berlin: the city of Tanis is found. Officials visit the famous archaeologist lndiana Jones to find out what that means. Jones explains to them Tanis was the city where, allegedly, the Lost Ark of the Covenant might be hidden. lf the Germans get hold of that ancient object, their armies might become invincible. lndiana Jones, always prepared tor adventure, is sent to Cairo to get hold of the Ark before the Germans find it.
