The story centres around a father and his two daughters, Marie and Suzanne. The tragic death of their mother at a young age leaves them bereft and struggling to maintain the family unit intact. Though inconsolable over the loss of his beloved wife, the father is determined to raise his daughters the best he can. In reality, the two daughters have to look after their heartbroken father, they nurture and caress him. Life continues in a similar vein over the years as the girls grow up, and when they finally reach adolescence the inevitable problems start to pull the family apart. But when the girls ultimately reach adulthood, they realise they have a chance to bring the family back together.
