119' - 1990 - Comedy, Romance - Dialogue: English
Disney would never approve but how else could you do Cinderella in the 90-ies if not as Pretty Woman ? Marshall updated the old fantasy by combining it with a modern sexual fantasy, that of the hooker with the heart of gold. The result is a blend of rlsqué comedy and sentimentality. The film gets off with New York raider Edward Lewis stopping on Hollywood Boulevard to ask a prostitute how to get to Beverty Hills. For 20$ she drives him there in his own sports car and Is subsequently hired to be his escort for a week's round of parties and socials while he attempts to close a big deal. (Screen Int 31.3.90)
