A modern marivaudage focusing on tour characters: Adam and Beatrice are faithful and well-disciplined (in principle), while Carl and Diana are cynical and libertine (on principle). Together, they make up two fragile couples. They live in the gray city of Brussels, where they try to escape boredom playing tennis doubles. In this uncomfortable context, they end up by swapping partners (alter all, there are at least tour ways of making love). The Algonquin Hotel, in the center of the quiet city, provides a decadent haven tor !heir digressing conversations. The trouble arises precisely from their nonconjugal conjugation.
