Like Water for Chocolate (Como agua para chocolate)

The story centres around the forbidden love between Tita and Pedro. Mama Elena follows an old family tradition that the youngest daughter will not marry so that she can take care of her, so she offers the hand of her second daughter to Pedro. Both lovers accept, knowing it's their only chance to be near each other. Tita, in charge of the household kitchen, begins a lifetime of expressing her feelings to Pedro through the food she prepares. (London Film Festival 1992)
