L'eau froide (Cold Water)

1972, somewhere near Paris. Gilles and Christine are in the same class. Both of them are children of divorced parents, left to themselves. If Gilles is protected by his father's affection and authority, Christine is torn between her parents. Her mother lives with an Algerian football player. Christine is taken away from her mother's custody as they do not have enough money to support her. Her father, who is worried for his daughter's mental health, wants to place her in a convalescence home. The only opening in Christine's life is her love for Gilles, but Gilles is still very much of a child and cannot live up to the expectations...
