This short (Resnais's last) is a movie about the virtues of polystyrene with a mock heroic commentary by Raymond Queneau in alexandrine rhyming couplets. Ignoring human beings altogether and filling the CinemaScope screen with almost abstract colors and shapes, the film traces the plastic back to its beginnings in the primeval forest.
