December 1993. Three young people, two boys and a girl, committed two acts of cold-blooded murder in order to steal from their victims. The names of the murdered men were on a list in the girl’s possession. Their intention was to open a chain of ready-to-wear shops across the United States, “because you can make it there overnight”. All that stood between them and their dream were ten million francs. There were no particular characteristics about either the youths or their social environment. Neither was there any record of drug abuse. So how did they come to commit such a crime?
After signing her statement to the police Nathalie asks the inspector when she would be released, adding that she didn’t kill the men anyway. All she did was open the respective apartment doors. Yes, she heard the victims cry out in pain, but during the murders she watched a video and ate the last piece of smoked salmon on the table.
