Kiriku is born in a small African village which is under the spell of Karaba, a terrible sorceress assisted by docile, evil robots. Karaba makes the river run dry, gobbles up any man who dares to challenge her, and generally harasses all the villagers. Kirikou decides to break the spell. After a long journey he reaches the Forbidden Mountain, the home of a wise old man who knows Karaba’s secrets. A highly original animated film, “Kirkou and the Sorceress” tells the story of an African community, its lifestyle and its problems.
