Werner Nekes

Johnny Flash

77' - 1986 - Comedy - Dialogue: German
Director: Werner Nekes Composer: Helge Schneider With: Helge Schneider, Andreas Kunze, Heike-Melba Fendel

Johny Flash is a musical grotesque, depicting the rise of singer Jürgen Potzkohten, alias 'Johny Flash' in the German Ruhrdistrict. Johny Flash sings songs about life, love, fidelity, sorrow and pain. With all his glitter and neonlight splendour, he impersonates the
secret longings and dreams of the many people living and working in industry. Nekes' film is aften funny, what he shows is sometimes ridiculous, but in essence, Johny Flash is a film about man's longing to be loved.
