With its stunning photography and spectacular Himalayan setting, this will probably be the most extraordinarily beautiful film you will see this year. The people of a remote mountain village are divided when their chief, Lhakpa, is killed in an accident. Tinle, Lhakpa's father, is determined that his young grandson should follow in his father's footsteps and become the next chief. However, Karma, Lhakpa's friend, wants to be the one to lead the essential and dangerous expedition through the mountains to trade their salt for the grain they need to survive.
